This video was extremely meaningful, I feel the energy and engagement these gentleman put forth is very exciting. The continued to reference having fun at work, and not being about fish people about the people. They all had positive approaches to their job and how they service people. The engagement and energy they provide to the customers, is what keeps people coming back, and the friendships they have can not be duplicated. So each organization would need to create their own positive environment. I think having positive happy work relationships helps with the energy.

3) As a manager with a small budget for bonuses and pay raises discuss how you would attempt to motivate your employees to benefit from intrinsic rewards.100words

1)Iwould attempt to motivate my employees by creating engagement aroundcompany goals and initiatives. When you engage employees and make themfeel apart of the organization they are more apt to work harder, andmotivate to do their best. The chapter highlighted the Reinforcement theory, which I am a firmbeliever in recognizing the organization rewards the individualsperformance. Individuals will judge the favorability of their outcomesrelative to what others receive but also with respect to how they aretreated. However when people are disappointed in their rewards, they arelikely to be sensitive to the perceived fairness of the procedures usedand the consideration given to them by their supervisors.

2)As a manager with a small budget for bonuses and pay raisesI like the idea of social interaction. Allow employees to have timeduring office hours to engage or conduct business outside of thebuilding. I would also suggest as a team evening events in public placeswhere they offer group discounts and employees can mingle an have fun.Networking with colleagues is a great way to learn other parts of thebusiness which can possibly lead to new future promotions or positionsfor employees. I would also use this as a time to recognize my employees. Giving them the acknowledgement they deserve

3) Intrinsic rewards are personal feelings of psychological accomplishments. As a manager with a small budget for extrinsic rewards, you need to make communication with your staff a priority. Simply telling your employees that you don’t have anything to give to them and that they should feel accomplished because they are great, is not enough. In order to motivate employees in this situation, they need to know what their real motivation is. Managers need to know why their employees come to work everyday. With this knowledge they’ll be able to make sure that their employees feel appreciated, understood and valued.
